Oilers Finish 4th in GLIAC Presidents' Trophy Standings

The University of Findlay athletic programs finished fourth in the 2013-14 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Presidents’ Trophy Standings, which was released on May 13.

The Presidents' Trophy, commonly referred to as the All-Sports Trophy, is awarded at the end of each year of competition to the conference member having demonstrated general excellence in all or most sports.  Teams are awarded points based on where they finish in the conference standings for each sport in league competition.

The Oilers accumulated 142.0 points during the year, 1.5 points behind third place Wayne State University.  Grand Valley State University captured the trophy for the 16th consecutive year with 234.0 points while Ashland University finished as the runner-up with 188.0 points.

The UF men’s basketball team was the only program to capture a league championship for the Oilers among all league-sponsored sports.
