Oilers Finish 38th in Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

The University of Findlay finished 38th in the NCAA Division II Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings, which was announced on June 4 by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).

The Oilers racked up 394.0 points during the 2013-14 campaign.  They did not score a point during the fall season, but racked up 238.5 points during the winter. They then tacked on 155.5 points in the spring for their total.

Grand Valley State University won the cup for the ninth time in the past 11 years while Ashland University finished fifth.  The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) was the only conference in the nation to have two programs in the top ten of the rankings and had four programs listed in the top 40 among 247 member institutions.

The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between NACDA and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports -- seven women’s and seven men’s.
