Jake Miller Hired as Assistant Golf Coach
Findlay, OH – The University of Findlay athletic department is pleased to announce the hiring of Jake Miller as the school's Assistant Golf Coach after being a Graduate Assistant for one season. He was officially hired on Monday, July 10 and will begin his duties immediately.
Athletic Director Brandi Laurita is elated to welcome Jake into Findlay's group of coaches. "Jake has been an outstanding asset to the athletic department and golf program and we are excited to promote him to a full-time role as an assistant", said Laurita. "His knowledge of the game, ability to recruit, and dedication to the improvement of the team are all qualities we are sure will help elevate an already successful program."
Jake came to the University of Findlay after four years of golf at NCAA Division I, Marshall University. After his playing career, Miller was the team's assistant men's coach for one semester. In his junior season, Miller helped lead the Herd to three tournament championships. Since graduation from Marshall, Miller has qualified for four out of the previous five Ohio Amateur Championships as well as being selected as the first alternate for the 2015 US Amateur Championship.
About his new role, Miller said, "I am excited for the opportunity to continue with the Oilers golf program. I've seen the talent and expectations increase in my time here and cannot wait to see what the future holds. Go Oilers!"
Head Golf Coach Dominic Guarnieri said, "Over the past year and a half, Coach Miller has proven that he has what it takes to step into this role. I'm proud of what he has accomplished in the last year and a half and am confident he will continue to help build the program."
