Oilers Win G-MAC Presidents' Cup

The University of Findlay Oilers captured the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Presidents' Cup for the 2018-19 season. The Oilers won the cup by accumulating 181 points in sports sponsored by the conference.

The Oilers won the regular season title in men's basketball and claimed the men and women's swimming and diving championships as well. The Oilers women's golf team and women's lacrosse squad then added championship victories in the spring.

Findlay's great team success led to individual accomplishments as well. Eldred Henry from the Oilers track and field team was named the G-MAC Field Athlete of the Year for both the indoor and outdoor seasons while Alex White (Men's Basketball), Anna Hintz (Women's Basketball), Xavier Marable (Men's Indoor Track and Field), Samantha Sweet (Women's Tennis), Tomas Kmetko (Men's Tennis), and Makenzie Torres (Women's Golf) were all named Player of the Year in their respective sports.

In addition, Marable captured Freshman of the Year for the Oilers during the indoor track season while Chris McFarland (Women's Swimming), and Laiying Alvarado (Women's Tennis) captured the same honor in their sports. Brittany Stephens (Women's Lacrosse) was also selected as the Defensive Player of the Year.

Coaches within the Oilers athletic department also received recognition for their success during the 2018-19 campaign. Andrew Makepeace (Men's Swimming and Diving), Charlie Ernst (Men's Basketball), and Dominic Guarnieri (Women's Golf) were all named Coach of the Year in their respective sports.
