James L. Child Jr. Equestrian Complex

The 32-acre James L. Child Jr. Equestrian Complex, four miles south of the main campus, houses the English Equestrian Program. Students have access to two indoor arenas, an outdoor sand ring and a grass jumping field. The facility accommodates more than 130 horses, and there are many grass turnout paddocks, some with loafing sheds and automatic waters. Seven wash stalls, tack lockers and a large classroom are conveniently located inside the stall barns. Students may be viewed from the comfort of a heated viewing lounge overlooking the large arena. Also housed at the James L. Child Jr. Equestrian Complex is the University Equine Veterinary Services, Inc., a veterinary clinic offering emergency and routine surgery services for the general public. The clinic, operated under the direction of three University staff veterinarians and a staff board-certified equine surgeon, provides a unique observation experience for Findlay office are located in the largest arena.
