#3 Lakers Take 2 From Oilers

The University of Findlay baseball team was swept by #3 Grand Valley State University on Saturday, April 23 to give them an 11-25-1 record on the season with an 8-17 record in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers lost the first game 14-0 as the Lakers limited Findlay to only three hits.

Ryan Rothenbuhler took the loss after allowing ten runs, only five earned, on ten hits in three innings of work.

In the second game, the Oilers held a 4-2 lead in the sixth but the Lakers scored three in the bottom half of the inning to come from behind and capture the victory.

Jason Reitenbach had a triple and two runs-batted-in while Jeff Foley went 3-for-3 with two runs scored.

Dustin Zielaskiewicz contributed a pair of hits and also drove in a run for the Oilers offense as well.

Darrell Thobe started and allowed two runs on four hits in five innings while Derek Draper was saddled with the loss after surrendering three runs, only one earned, on three hits in one inning of action.

The Oilers will be back in action again on April 27 when they host Tiffin University in a doubleheader beginning at 1 pm.
