Oilers, Timberwolves Split

The University of Findlay baseball team split a twin bill against Northwood University on Saturday, May 7 in Midland, Michigan to give them a 15-29-1 record on the season with a 12-21 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

In the first game, the Oilers scored two runs in each of the last four innings to come away with a 10-2 victory as Matt Weber pitched seven solid frames.

Weber allowed six hits and gave up two runs while striking out five.

David Cort was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two runs-batted-in while Reid Rothenbuhler went 2-for-3 and drove in a run.

Dustin Zielaskiewicz knocked in two runs for the Oilers offense and Jason Reitenbach crossed the plate twice during the win.

In the second game, the Oilers fell 6-1 as Drew Hargrove was saddled with the loss after allowing six runs, only three earned, on nine hits in six innings of action.

Robert Marsh went 3-for-3 with a run scored while Zielaskiewicz finished 2-for-4.

The Oilers and Timberwolves will be back in action again tomorrow for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
