Oilers Split With Wheeling Jesuit

The University of Findlay baseball team split a doubleheader with Wheeling Jesuit University on Friday, March 11 in Winter Haven, Florida to run their record to 2-6 on the year. They lost 5-4 in the first game and won 8-7 in the second game.

In the opener, Wheeling Jesuit scored five runs in the sixth inning to secure the victory as Ryan Rothenbuhler took the loss after allowing four runs on four hits in two innings of action.

Kyle Wilson drove in two runs on a triple while Reid Rothenbuhler and Tommy Roush each recorded a pair of hits in the game.

In the nightcap, Nathaniel Fitch finished 2-for-3 with three runs-batted-in while Rothenbuhler knocked in two runs on two hits.

Ethan James picked up the win in relief after pitching 2.2 innings of scoreless ball.

The Oilers will be back in action again on March 23 when they face St. Joseph's College in a twin bill beginning at 2 pm in Rensselaer, Indiana.
