Chargers Sweep Oilers

The University of Findlay baseball team was swept by Hillsdale College on Sunday, April 10 in Hillsdale, Michigan, giving them a 6-19-1 record on the season with a 4-12 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers lost the first game 9-6 as Preston Zachrich allowed six runs on seven hits in 1.2 innings of action.

Jason Reitenbach and Tommy Roush each hit a home run in the game on the offensive side of things while Nathaniel Fitch went 3-for-3.

The Oilers lost 5-4 in the second game of the twin bill, despite making a comeback in the final inning.

Down by four runs, the Oilers scored three in the seventh before lining into a double play to end the game.

Darrell Thobe took the loss after allowing five runs on 11 hits in 4.1 innings.

Dylan Cintula drove in two runs at the plate while Reid Rothenbuhler had a pair of hits in the loss.

The Oilers will be back in action again on April 12 when they host Urbana University at 1 pm in a twin bill at Fifth Third Field.
