#3 Lakers Sweep Oilers

The University of Findlay baseball team was swept by #3 Grand Valley State University on Friday, April 22 to give them an 11-23-1 record on the season with an 8-15 record in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers lost the first game 13-5 as the Lakers scored ten combined runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

Matt Weber allowed seven runs on seven hits in 3.2 innings of work to take the loss.

Nathaniel Fitch drove in a pair of runs for the Findlay offense while Reid Rothenbuhler and Dustin Zielaskiewicz contributed two hits apiece.

The Oilers fell 15-1 in the second contest as Aaron Geis gave up six runs, only four earned, on seven hits in 2.2 innings of work.

Findlay's offense managed seven singles as Rothenbuhler drove in their lone run.

The Oilers and Lakers will play again tomorrow in a twin bill beginning at noon.
