The University of Findlay baseball team was defeated by Saginaw Valley State 3-1 and 6-2 in their doubleheader on Saturday, March 31 in Saginaw, Mich.

Preston Zachrich pitched five scoreless innings in game one, but some shaky defense allowed Saginaw to tack on three unearned runs in the sixth.

The Oilers attempted a comeback in the top of the seventh when Victor Migliore's two out single got the ball rolling.  David Cort and Ross Tonyan followed suit with back to back singles to score Migliore, however, the game ended on the next batter when Eric Terwilliger grounded out to first.

Dustin Zielaskiewicz led Findlay at the plate going 3-for-3 while Migliore and Cort each had a pair of singles.

Zachrich took the loss, despite only giving up two hits in 5 and 1/3 innings while striking out four.

Saginaw Valley bounced out of the gate strong in game two scoring all six of their runs in the first four innings.

Riley Christian recorded the Oilers only two RBI's in the third, knocking in Terwilliger and Zielaskiewicz.

Terwilliger and Blake Schmenk had Findlay's only other hits in the game.

With the losses, the Oilers fall to 6-13 on the year with a 1-7 mark in GLIAC play.  They will conclude their four game series with Saginaw tomorrow beginning with game one of the twin bill scheduled for noon.
