Oilers Have Tough Day At Lake Erie

The University of Findlay baseball team dropped two games against Lake Erie on Saturday, April 14th in Painesville, Ohio.

In game one, the Oilers scored one in the first and one in the fourth but took an 8-2 loss.

Tommy Roush, Reid Rothenbuhler and David Cort each had two hits while Blake Schmenk recorded the only other hit for Findlay.  Roush had the Oilers only RBI.

Preston Zachrich dropped to 3-3 on the year with the loss, giving up eight runs on 11 hits while striking out four.

Lake Erie continued their momentum in game two, beating the Oilers 15-4.

Cort led the way for Findlay at the plate going 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored a run.  Schmenk and Roush also had two hits in the game.

Darrell Thobe took the loss, dropping his record to 0-2 on the season.

With the losses, the Oilers overall record drops to 12-19 on the season with a 5-13 mark in GLIAC play.  They are scheduled to complete the four game series with Lake Erie tomorrow in a twin bill beginning at noon.
