Dragons Better Oilers in 2-Game Set

The University of Findlay baseball team was swept by Tiffin University on Wednesday, April 25 in Tiffin, Ohio.  The Oilers lost the first game 3-0 and then fell 11-7 in the second contest as their record dropped to 14-27 on the year with a 7-21 record in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

In the first game, Findlay managed only three hits as Reid Rothenbuhler hit a double and both Tommy Roush and Dustin Zielaskiewicz added a single apiece.

Aaron Geis pitched well for the Oilers in the loss, allowing three runs, only two earned, on five hits in six innings of action.

Geis also struck out six batters, but walked five.

In the second game, Roush had a big game at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs-batted-in and two runs scored.

Roush had a double and also clubbed a two-run homer in the first inning.

Mike Steele picked up the loss in relief as the Oilers used five different pitchers in the game.

The Oilers will hit the diamond again on Saturday when they face Ashland University in the first of a four-game set.  The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in Ashland, Ohio.
