Oilers Record Second Straight Walk Off Win
The University of Findlay baseball team defeated Rockhurst University 14-13 on Monday, March 4 in Lakeland, Fla.
Down two runs in the bottom of the ninth, Three straight singles by Kris Hayward, Jordan Garcia and Chase Goulette loaded the bases for the Oilers.
A huge run double by Joe Sickler tied the game. After Blake Schmenk was intentionally walked, Jon Shollenberger was the hero with the game winning RBI single to score Goulette for the second straight walk-off win for Findlay.
Shollenberger was 2-for-5 with two RBI's and walked twice while Reid Rothenbuhler led the team with three singles and three RBI's.
Garcia and Victor Migliore each had three singles and an RBI. Tommy Roush went 2-for-6 with a double and an RBI.
With the win, the Oilers move to 4-3 on the season, riding a four-game win streak. They will continue their Florida trip tomorrow against Oakland City.
