Oilers Bats Explode To Take Two Against Panthers

The University of Findlay baseball team took two games from Ohio Dominican University on Saturday, April 13 in Findlay, Ohio.

The Oilers won the first game 7-3.

Blake Schmenk, Jordan Garcia and Dylan Cintula each recorded two hits in the game. Jon Shollenberger was 1-for-2 with a triple and scored once.

Preston Zachrich was credited with the win for Findlay, allowing two earned runs on nine hits while striking out six in six innings of work.

The Oilers bats were red hot in game two as they went on to win 18-5.

Shollenberger capped off an outstanding day at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a triple and an inside the park home run. He had three RBI's and scored three runs in the game.

Tommy Roush also had a double to cap off a three hit game, while Reid Rothenbuhler, Cintula and Joe Sickler each chipped in two hits apiece.

Ethan James went the distance and got the win for the Oilers allowing three earned runs on eight hits while striking out six.

With the pair of victories, Findlay moves to 14-15 on the season with a 7-10 mark in GLIAC play. They will attempt the sweep of Ohio Dominican tomorrow at noon.
