Oilers Fall Twice At Malone

The University of Findlay baseball team fell twice to Malone University on Saturday, May 4 in Canton, Ohio.

Malone scored two runs in the first and second innings, four in the third, and tacked on one in the fourth inning on their way to a 9-5 rout of the Oilers.

Jordan Garcia went 3-for-4 at the plate with three singles and scored twice.

Blake Schmenk, Reid Rothenbuhler each had a pair of hits, an RBI and scored one for Findlay.

Preston Zachrich took the loss, allowing six earned runs on seven hits while striking out two.

The Oilers lost the second game 7-6.

Tied going in the final inning and with two outs, Malone was able to load the bases and score the winning run on a hit batsman.

Despite the loss, Garcia's bat remained hot at the plate with another 3-for-4 performance including a double and two RBI's.

Tommy Roush was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Schmenk, Victor Migliore and Joe Sickler each chipped in with a hit apiece.

Findlay falls to 19-25 on the season with the pair of losses. They will conclude their series with Malone tomorrow.
