Schmenk Named 1st Team All-GLIAC

Senior outfielder Blake Schmenk of the Oilers baseball team was named first team all-league by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) on Wednesday, May 8.

Schmenk led the Oilers with a .377 batting average, the third highest mark in the GLIAC.  He has also scored a league-high 54 runs and leads the league in stolen bases with 20.

The Perrysburg, Ohio native also racked up ten doubles, two triples, two home runs and 21 runs batted in.

Junior shortstop Reid Rothenbuhler and senior pitcher Preston Zachrich were named honorable mention all-conference as well.

Rothenbuhler hit .333 on the year with 15 doubles and 33 runs batted in.

Zachrich posted a 4-4 record on the mound with a 4.19 earned run average.  He also struck out a team-high 62 batters in 58 innings of work.
