Parrill Named Head Coach of Baseball Team

Stephen Parrill has been tabbed by Steven Rackley, director of athletics at The University of Findlay, to lead the Oilers baseball program as he will take over for the recently retired Troy Berry.

"After a thorough search, I am thrilled to announce the hiring of Stephen Parrill as our new baseball coach," said Rackley.  Coach Parrill has a wealth of knowledge about the game and has a documented history of success."

Parrill, who has been serving as the athletic director at St. Ursula Academy in Toledo, Ohio since 2005, was an assistant coach at the University of Toledo from 1993-2003.  While at Toledo, Parrill served as the recruiting coordinator, infield and hitting instructor, third base coach, strength and conditioning coordinator and also handled the fundraising duties for the team.

"I am very excited to be the new head baseball coach at Findlay," said Parrill.  "I would like to thank Steven Rackley and his administrative staff for giving me this wonderful opportunity to lead a program that has so much potential.  I can't wait to get started, meet all of our players and begin practicing."

Parrill also served as an assistant baseball coach at Indiana University (1989-1992) and Bowling Green State University (1988-89).  He also was the Detroit Tigers batting practice pitcher from 1997-98.

Since 2003, Parrill has been a private baseball instructor and recruiting consultant for prospects of any age.

Parrill graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in education/recreation in 1988 and was a two-year letter winner on the Buckeyes baseball team. 

He currently resides in Perrysburg, Ohio with his wife, Heidi.  He has two sons, Collin and Griffin, and a daughter, Madalyn.
