The Oilers offense struggled in both games and that began in Game 1 as Findlay could only muster four hits in a 7-1 loss to UMSL. The game was the first ever played at the new Cocoa Expo Baseball Center, a multi-million dollar, minor league quality stadium.

Missouri-St. Louis scored two runs in the second, third, and fourth innings with a single run in the fifth, the second home run of the day for the Tritons, to round out their offense for the game.

Findlay's lone run came in the third inning when Logan Harrah singled and was moved to second on a walk to Chase Goulette. Freshman Pete Burkett came in to pinch hit for the Oilers and delivered with a single to third base, scoring Harrah.

The only other hit of the ballgame came from Goulette. That hit was a single to lead off the top of the 5th inning.

Jon Walker took the loss on the mound and falls to 0-1 on the season. Jon pitched 4.2 innings and allowed seven runs, five earned, on eight hits. He struck out five.

The second contest featured a similar lack of offense from the Oilers who lost the ball game 3-1. Findlay did receive a good outing from their starter Mason Mayberry.

Making his second start of the season, Mayberry pitched 6.1 innings and allowed three runs, one earned. He struck out seven in the tough luck loss.

UMSL scored two runs in the top of the first inning and added some insurance as they scored a single run in inning number six.

Findlay's only run of the game came in the third inning when Jon Shollenberger reached on an error by the Triton second baseman, scoring Evan Hollar who singled with one out three batters prior.

Findlay has now lost three straight and will try to end that streak as they wrap up their Florida trip with a double-header vs. Evangel University tomorrow, Friday, March 6. The games are set to begin at 9:15am and can be seen LIVE via webcast or follow along with LIVE STATS.
