In the second contest, the Oilers were the first team to score as they got off to a 2-0 lead, but that was all the offense the home team could muster as Hillsdale scored four unanswered runs to win by a 4-2 final.

The Oilers first hit came in the third inning when Troy Merriman singled to center field and their first run came just an inning later.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Chase Goulette led off with a single through the left side of the infield and then moved to second when Peter Yorgen reached on an error on an attempted sacrifice bunt. The pair advanced on a groundout and Goulette scored on a single from Pete Burkett. Merriman then stepped up and roped a ball up the middle but the line drive was caught by a diving Hillsdale second basemen. The second basemen then got up and attempted to throw out Burkett at first base, but airmailed the throw, allowing Yorgen to score from third and putting the Oilers up 2-0.

The Chargers answered in the top half of the next inning as they regained the lead by scoring three runs. An add-on run in the seventh made the score 4-2, the eventual final score.

Colin Gossard (1-4) took the loss on the mound as he pitched 5.1 innings and allowed three runs on six hits. He struck out five and walked four.

Goulette ended the game with a hit, two walks, and a run scored. Burkett finished with a single and the only Oiler RBI.

As a team, Findlay finished with two runs on three hits. They made one error and left fix runners on base.

The Oilers will be back in action this weekend, April 18-19, as they travel to Allendale, MI, for a four game set with Grand Valley State University. The first game on Saturday is set to begin at 1:00pm.
