Delas Named GLIAC North Pitcher of the Week

GLIAC Release

Findlay, OH – Oilers' freshman Mark Delas has been named as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Pitcher of the Week following his dominant performance against Gannon on Thursday, March 3.

Delas, making his first career start, threw a complete game no-hitter against the Golden Knights who entered the game with an NCAA DII top-10 team batting average of .368. Gannon's only base runners came in the third inning on an error and the fourth inning on a walk. Delas retired the final ten batters he faced and finished with six strikeouts to earn the Oilers first no-hitter since Brandon Canterbury no-hit Urbana on April 26, 1997.

This is the first GLIAC Pitcher of the Week Award for FIndlay since Drew Hargrove earned the honor on March 31, 2014.
