Oilers Beaten by Eagles

Ashland, Ohio – The University of Findlay baseball team dropped a non-league affair with the Ashland University Eagles on Tuesday, April 17 by a score of 18-3. With the loss, the Oilers are now 18-10 overall while the Eagles improve to 23-11.

Ashland put up five runs in the first three innings and, after a single run by Findlay in the fourth, scored five runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth en route to a 15-run victory. The Oilers scored their final two runs in the ninth.

Tyler Rendlesham took the loss on the hill after throwing 4.1 innings and allowing seven runs on six hits. He walked three and struck out five.

Casey Gould and Josh Schwerer each had a pair of hits in the contest while Austin Rawlins, Nic Varda, Wyatt Young, Nick Berry, and Ryan Johnson each chipped in with one hit each.

Findlay will return to league play this weekend when they take on Lake Erie College at The Cube on Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22.
