Western Equestrian in 2nd at Nationals

The University of Findlay western equestrian team completed the first day of the 2014 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championship on May 2 in Harrisburg, Pa.

The Oilers are currently in second place after the first day of the event with nine points. Ohio State is leading with 12 points.

Sarah Shedd took home a first place finish in the novice western horsemanship portion of the team competition while Josh Clevenger was fifth in the open reining.

In individual competition, Kaitlin LeBlanc secured a first place finish in the open individual horsemanship.

The championship event will continue tomorrow.
