Western Team Takes 3rd at IHSA Nationals

The University of Findlay western equestrian team tied for third at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championship, which concluded on May 7 in Lexington, Ky. The Oilers scored 16 points at the event while St. Andrews captured the national title with 27.

In team competition, Brandon Morin brought home a national title with a first place finish in novice western horsemanship. Dylan Lewis was second in intermediate western horsemanship, Marissa Phillips was fourth in open western horsemanship, Julia Roshelli was sixth in advanced western horsemanship and Alan Durden was seventh in beginner western horsemanship.

In individual competition, Megan Dulle won a national title with a first place finish in intermediate western horsemanship while Anneleise Ritzi also scored a title by taking first in advanced western horsemanship.

Emma Wallace was second in novice western horsemanship and Phillips was eighth in open western horsemanship. Phillips also finished 12th in the AQHA High Point Rider standings.
