Oilers Host Regional Qualifier

The Oilers hosted the Zone 6, Region 1 regional qualifying horse show on Saturday, March 12. UF had 16 riders qualify to compete.

Six of the Findlay riders qualified as individuals for the Zones horse show during the competition. In addition, UF was recognized as the Zone 6, Region 1 champion and will be competing at the Zones horse show as a team. 

The following riders will be moving on to Zone competition as individuals:

Bethany Ockwell - Open Fences, Open Flat

Junior Emily Gill - Open Flat

Sophomore Peter Patch - Novice Fences, Novice Flat

Junior Megan Dulle - Walk Trot

Four UF riders were also recognized for their standing in the Cacchione Cup competition.  The Cacchione Cup is awared to the rider who has accumulated the most points in the Open division in the region.

Senior Katie Pohlman - 2nd place

Senior Bethany Ockwell - 3rd place

Sophomore Jessica Barno - 4th place

Emily Gill - 5th place

The Oilers will next compete on April 2 at Zones.
