Bio

Alexandra Kemp-Thompson is entering her second year on the Oilers coaching staff during the 2017-18 campaign. This season will also mark the first year of her serving in the role as head coach.
 
In her first season with the Oilers, Kemp-Thompson helped lead the IHSA team to both regional and zone championships, and a team appearance in the national championship. Four individuals also qualified for nationals and all placed in the top-10, respectfully. 

A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Kemp-Thompson fostered her passion for the equestrian sport while completing her college degree.  She was a four-year starter for the Seton Hill University IHSA equestrian team.  A co-captain her sophomore year, she competed at 41 collegiate competitions over four years for the Lady Griffins, including three regional appearances, three zone finals, and one national championship.  In 2012, Alexandra was both Zone 6 open equitation over fences and open equitation on the flat champion.  At the 2012 IHSA National Championship she represented Zone 6, Region 5 as the Highpoint Cacchione Cup rider and placed seventh in the nation in the open equitation over fences division.  She was also awarded IHSA all-academic honors three times, the WVIAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll in both 2012 and 2013, as well as the Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award as a senior.

After completing her bachelor of arts in international organization and her bachelor of science in marketing and human resources at Seton Hill University, Alexandra continued her education with a masters of business administration with a concentration in marketing at Tiffin University.  From 2013-2015 Alexandra worked as the graduate assistant coach for the Tiffin University varsity equestrian team.
