#17 Chargers Defeat Oilers 31-3

The University of Findlay football team fell 31-3 to #17 Hillsdale College on Saturday, November 6 in Hillsdale, Michigan at Muddy Waters Stadium. The loss gives the Oilers a 1-9 record on the season with a 1-8 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Sophomore running back Monterae Williams led the offense with 71 yards on 17 carries while freshman running back Ray Ballard registered 26 yards on four carries.

Senior quarterback John Soli completed 12-of-21 passes for 90 yards with an interception as senior wide receivers Dustin Zielaskiewicz and DaJerrian Smith recorded five catches apiece.

Zielaskiewicz had 44 yards receiving while Smith totaled 37.

Defensively, sophomore defensive lineman Richard Sumlin and freshman linebacker Kenny Klatt led the team with nine tackles apiece.

Junior defensive lineman Brandon Cornell had two tackles for a loss while freshman defensive back Jamon McClain picked off a pass.

The Oilers will host Wayne State University on Saturday, November 13 in their final game of the season. The contest is scheduled to begin at noon inside Donnell Stadium.
