Eagles Fly Past Oilers 56-7

The University of Findlay football team lost 56-7 to Ashland University on Saturday, October 30 at Donnell Stadium. The loss gives the Oilers a 1-8 record on the season with a 1-7 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Eagles out-gained the Oilers 471-184 in the game and also blocked three punts, all of them by Alan Dunson.

Freshman Ray Ballard gained 41 yards on 12 carries while senior Steve Winner caught six passes for 54 yards.

Senior John Soli completed 12-of-26 passes for 105 yards and a score to senior DaJerrian Smith.

The Eagles were led by D.J. McCoy's 205 yards rushing on 25 carries.

Defensively, senior Bryon Rizzi tallied 13 tackles to lead the team while senior Craig Hoying had 12 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss and a sack in the game.

Freshman Kenny Klatt registered 11 tackles while freshmen Kalon Willis and John Hammersmith each recorded ten stops in the loss.
