Hoying Named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week

Junior defensive lineman Craig Hoying of The University of Findlay football team was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, September 20 for his performance in a 10-7 win at Tiffin University last Saturday.

Hoying broke the school record for sacks in a game after logging 4.0 in the win. The previous record of 3.5 was set by Mike Roach against Tiffin during the 2008 campaign.

The 6'3, 250-pound Anna, Ohio native also recorded a career-high tying seven tackles and amassed 5.5 tackles for a loss in the contest.

On the season, Hoying has tallied 15 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks.
