Sumlin Currently on Roughriders Practice Squad

Former Oilers football standout Richard Sumlin is playing with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.  Sumlin inked a contract in the spring and is currently playing on their practice squad.

The former all-conference performer is a part of the Roughriders team that is currently 5-0 on the season and in first place of the West Division.

Sumlin racked up 43 tackles and a team-high 11.5 tackles for a loss during his final year with the Oilers in 2012.  The Medina, Ohio native also recorded four sacks and led the team with four quarterback hurries.
