5 Football Players Earn Preseason Honors

Five UF football players were named preseason all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) by Beyond Sports Network (BSN) on July 7.

Junior running back Daiquone Ford, senior wide receiver Lloyd Henry, senior center Damon Howe, senior defensive end Kevin Brewton and senior safety Harold Jones-Quartey all earned the honor from BSN.

Ford, who earned All-American honors for the Oilers last season along with all-region and all-conference accolades, rushed for 1,789 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Henry was a first team all-conference player for Findlay after registering 71 catches for 951 yards while Howe earned first team all-league honors last year after anchoring the Oilers offensive line.

Brewton, who earned all-region and all-conference honors last year, registered 13.5 tackles for a loss and 11 sacks while Jones-Quartey made 92 tackles to go along with three interceptions en route to being tabbed first team all-GLIAC.
