Verlon Reed Tabbed GLIAC Player of the Week

Senior quarterback Verlon Reed was tabbed the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Offensive Player of the Week on Sep. 8 for his performance in the Oilers 46-38 win over Hillsdale.

Reed accounted for all six of the Oilers touchdowns in the win, scoring four on the ground and throwing for two more.  He rushed the ball 18 times for 176 yards and completed 17-of-28 passing attempts for 293 yards.

The Columbus, Ohio native also completed a two-point play on the Oilers first touchdown of the game and recorded 469 of the Oilers 595 yards in the contest.  His 469 total yards in the game was good enough to establish a new school record.

Reed and the Oilers will be back in action again on Saturday when they host McKendree University in a non-conference matchup beginning at noon in Donnell Stadium.
