Oilers to Hold Spring Game on Saturday

The University of Findlay football program will hold their annual Orange and Black Spring Game on Saturday, April 18 at Donnell Stadium. The festivities will begin at 11 a.m. with a tailgate party. The first 500 fans to show up to the event will receive a free meal from City Barbeque.

At 12 p.m., the Oilers will hold their annual alumni flag football game. The event will be followed by the Orange and Black Spring Game, which is slated to start at 1 p.m.

After the spring game, the football program will hold their reverse raffle beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event will take place at Alexandria's, located at 132 E. Crawford St. in Findlay. There will be a $10,000 grand prize for the raffle.

On Sunday, April 19, the Oilers will host a golf outing at Sycamore Springs in Arlington, Ohio. The event will start at 1 p.m. The cost of the event is $80 per player. The price includes lunch, 18-holes of golf with a cart, four beverage tickets and awards ceremony, driving range, UF gift, door prizes, skins game, 50/50 and other events will take place throughout the outing.

Spring Game Information

The Oilers football team finished last season with a 5-6 record and sport an overall mark of 26-17 under head coach Rob Keys. The team set a school record with 2,944 passing yards in 2014 as the offense ripped off 35.3 points and 448.4 yards per game. The unit also converted 46 percent of their third down tries and accumulated a total of 263 first downs on the year, which included a school record 145 through the air.

Individually, the 2015 edition of the Oilers features six players who have earned all-conference honors during their careers.

Senior running back Daiquone Ford returns as the most decorated player on the team having earned All-American and first team all-league honors during his sophomore season.

Senior tackle Chris Reaper returns to lead the offensive line and was a second team all-conference pick last season for the Oilers while sophomore running back Chauncey Bridges, junior defensive back Tory Clark, junior linebacker Myles Alexander and junior kicker Tyler Bugeja have all accumulated honorable mention all-conference accolades during their tenure with the team.
