Oilers to Host NMU on Senior Day
The Game
The Oilers will host Northern Michigan University in their final game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 14. The game, which will also be senior day, is scheduled to begin at noon in Donnell Stadium.
Military Appreciation Day
The Oilers football program is inviting all veterans and active members of the armed forces to attend their game against the Wildcats on Saturday. All who do will be given FREE admission.
Senior Day
The Oilers game against Northern Michigan will be their senior day. The Oilers will recognize Tim Szabo, Austin Reichert, Luke Hampton, Bobby Brown, Chris Reaper, Alex Long, Dylan Hirzel, Chris Obenour and Daiquone Ford before the game begins.

The Series
The Oilers currently trail 13-6 in the all-time series against Northern Michigan dating back to the 1954 campaign when the Wildcats were victorious by a score of 14-6.
The Wildcats came away with a 66-38 win over the Oilers last season in Marquette. Verlon Reed paced the offense with 222 passing yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 69 yards on 12 carries.
Lloyd Henry racked up ten catches for 123 yards while Tim Szabo caught five balls for 53 yards and a score.
Harold Jones-Quartey led the defense with eight tackles and Zach Matracia added seven stops.
Head Coach Rob Keys
Head coach Rob Keys is in his fifth season at the helm of the Oilers football program in 2015. He has recorded a 31-22 record with the program as a head coach, which includes a 27-21 mark in GLIAC games.

The Oilers
The Oilers are coming off of a 49-17 win against Malone last weekend in Donnell Stadium. Rhys Gervais had a historical day as he eclipsed a trio of Oilers' football records. In the first quarter, Gervais completed a 33-yard touchdown strike to Tim Szabo giving the quarterback 2,736 passing yards this season which launched him past the 2014 mark set by Verlon Reed (2,712).
A second-quarter touchdown pass from Gervais to Anthony Federico gave the sophomore quarterback 27 touchdown passes this season, breaking an 18 year record set in 1997 by Bo Hurley. The final record came in the fourth quarter when Garvais completed his 211th pass this season, also passing the 2014 mark set by Verlon Reed.
In the game, the Oilers quarterback finished with 299 yards passing and three touchdowns. Gervais' favorite target was Szabo who finished the game with six catches for 116 yards and a touchdown while Jason Moore also had a big game catching seven passes for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Chiebuka Chukwuneke had a big day for the Oilers as he picked up five tackles and also had a pair of forced fumbles, one of which he picked up and returned to the end zone for a touchdown.

The Wildcats
The Wildcats are coming off of a 49-39 loss against 3rd-ranked Ferris State and are 5-5 on the season. Shaye Brown leads the team with 2,858 passing yards and 27 touchdowns.
Marcus Tucker has caught 69 balls for 741 yards and nine scores while Keyondre Craig has accumulated 43 receptions for 784 yards and seven touchdowns.

GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week
Red-shirt freshman defensive back Chiebuka Chukwuneke was named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 9 for his performance in the Oilers 49-17 win over Malone last weekend. Chukwuneke recorded five tackles in the win, which included one sack. He also forced two fumbles, scooping up one of them and returning it 20 yards for a touchdown.
Moving on Up
Senior running back Daiquone Ford ranks fifth on the Oilers all-time rushing list with 3,327 career yards. Ford is chasing Dana Wright for fourth place on the all-time list. Wright racked up 3,335 career yards for Findlay from 1984-86.
Ford, who has battled injuries during his career with the Oilers, had a monster sophomore campaign when he was a regional finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, the NCAA Division II equivalent of the Heisman Trophy. The Myrtle Beach, S.C. native racked up 1,789 rushing yards, the second highest single-season total in school history, and also darted his way to 24 touchdowns, the best total in the history of the program.
During his career, Ford has 12 career 100-yard games. His best game came in a 48-27 win over Lake Erie on Oct. 26, 2013 when he set school records with 44 carries for 317 yards and six touchdowns.
Ford has also rushed for 37 career touchdowns.
Breaking Records
Sophomore quarterback Rhys Gervais has set single season school records for completions in a season (211), passing yards in a season (2,981) and passing touchdowns in a season (28).
Gervais broke Verlon Reed's records for most completions in a season (210) and most passing yards in a season (2,712), both marks that were established in 2014. He broke Bo Hurley's mark of 26 touchdowns, which was set during the 1997 campaign.
Gervais is looking to set a school record for most pass attempts in a season, which was set last year by Reed. Reed attempted 357 passes in 2014. Currently, Gervais has attempted 333 throws in 2015 and is 25 attempts shy of setting the record.
Riding Rhys
Sophomore quarterback Rhys Gervais is ranked second in the GLIAC in passing yards per game at 298.1. He has completed 211-of-333 (63.4%) passing attempts with 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Gervais ranks 13th nationally in passing yards per game (298.1) and 12th nationally in total passing yards (2,981). He also ranks ninth in passing touchdowns (28) and 17th in total offense (303.2).
Gervais ranks second in the conference in passing yards per game and total passing yards. He is ranked third in passing touchdowns and third in total offense.
300-Yard Passing Games
Sophomore quarterback Rhys Gervais has five 300-yard passing games this season. The school record for most 300-yard passing games in a career is six, which was set by Verlon Reed from 2013-14.
Racking up the Points
The Oilers have had a high powered offensive attack during head coach Rob Keys tenure with the program. During his time with the Oilers, the team has scored over 40 points 17 times.
