Orange Wins 17-13 Against Black in Spring Game

The University of Findlay football team held their annual spring game on April 15 at Donnell Stadium and the orange team came out victorious by a score of 17-13.

The black squad got on the scoreboard first when Tyler Bugeja connected on a 32-yard field with 4:03 to play in the first quarter. The orange team then quickly answered as Chauncey Bridges galloped his way for a 46-yard touchdown run to make the score 7-3 with 1:16 left in the opening period.

The second quarter began like the first as Bugeja cut the black lead to one after booting a 26-yard field goal. Nathan Densel of the black team then found Darius Merriweather for a 9-yard touchdown pass to extend their lead to 13-7 with 7:05 to play in the half before Grant Loveridge connected on a 34-yard field for the orange squad as time expired.

After a scoreless third quarter, the orange team took the lead when Rhys Gervais fired a dart across the middle to Dylan Blunk for a 26-yard touchdown. The touchdown put the orange team up by a score of 17-13 with 10:32 to play in the fourth quarter and the final score of the game.
