The Series

The Oilers have a dominating 23-1 series lead over the Dragons dating back to their first meeting in 1986, a game that ended with a 35-3 win for Findlay. Tiffin's lone win in the series came in 1993 in the regular season, but the Oilers defeated them later that year in the NAIA Playoffs. Since then, Findlay has won 15 straight games against the Green and Gold and are scoring 39.5 points per game in those 15 wins.

Head Coach Rob Keys

Head coach Rob Keys is in his sixth season at the helm of the Oilers football program in 2016.  He has recorded a 35-26 record with the program as a head coach, which includes a 31-25 mark in GLIAC games.

The Oilers

The Oilers bumped their record to 3-4 after overall after a 46-28 Homecoming win over Hillsdale College.

Findlay's offense is being led by junior Rhys Gervais who has now completed more passes and thrown for more yards than any quarterback in school history and in the Hillsdale victory, became just the second quarterback at Findlay to have multiple seasons of 2,000+ passing yards. He currently has completed 390 of his 617 pass attempts for 5,394 yards. He is second at UF with 52 career passing touchdowns.

Junior Jason Moore and senior Dylan Blunk are the team's leading receiver and are putting up big numbers this season. Moore has caught 44 balls for 727 yards and has 11 touchdowns receptions, six of which have come in the previous two weeks. Blunk has 43 receptions for 479 yards and has a touchdown catch.

Last week's GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, junior Chauncey Bridges, currently has 132 rushing attempts for 671 yards and six touchdowns. Last week, he rushed for career-highs with 26 carries, 193 yards, and three touchdowns.

The Dragons

The Tiffin Univeristy Dragons are off to a 5-2 start for the second consecutive season and currently find themselves in second place in the GLIAC South Division. The Dragons began the 2015 season with a 5-2 mark but lost their final four games in a row to finish the season 5-6.

The Dragons are led by last season's GLIAC Offensive Back of the Year, Antonio Pipkin. This season Pipkin has been the majority of the team's offense again with his 265.7 yards of total offense per game. With his team putting up 389.3 yards of offense per game, Pipkin is responsible for 68.3% of his team's offensive yards, a drop from last season when he was 79% of the team's yards putting up 359.6 of Tiffin's 455.5 yards per game. Despite the drop, Pipkin remains one of the league's top quarterbacks and ranks in the top five in the conference in completions, attempts, and touchdowns.

Pipkin's favorite target is Charles Holland who has caught 34 balls for 602 yards. His yards and yards per game (86.0) are sixth in the conference while his yards per catch of 17.7 yards is fourth.

Complimenting Pipkin on the ground is running back JaQuan Hardy who has rushed 54 times for 349 yards including a 123 yard performance at Walsh on Oct. 8.

Defensively, defensive end Willie Mays III has been a force as he has racked up nine tackles for loss and three sacks. His TFL are second-most in the GLIAC.

Record Watch |Rhys Gervais:

In his second year as the Oilers signal caller, Rhys Gervais already has his name all over the Findlay record books. Last year he set multiple season records; passing yards (3,353), completions (228), pass attempts (362), total offense (3,439), and passing touchdowns (33).

After this outstanding first season, Gervais' name can also be found in the career record book, as well. In Oct. 15th win over Hillsdale, Gervais passed Kevin Crooks (2001-04) for the most completions in a career. Gervais currently has 390 passes completed. He is currently third at UF with 617 pass attempts and is chasing the mark of 626 set by Clay Belton (2011-12) for second.

Perhaps most impressive is the amount of yards Gervais has thrown for in his short time as the quarterback. On October 8 against Wayne State, Rhys passed Bo Hurley to become the school's all-time leading passer. Gervais currently has 5,394 passing yards.

Gervais also sits in sole possession of second all-time at UF for touchdown passes in a career. He currently has 52 and is chasing Bo Hurley who threw 57 touchdowns from 1994-1997.

In the win over Hillsdale on Oct. 15, Gervais eclipsed the 2,000 yard mark for the 2016 season making him just the second quarterback in UF history to have multiple 2,000 yard passing seasons. The other was Clay Belton who threw for 2,039 in 2011 and 2,329 in 2012.

Dylan Blunk: Senior wide receiver Dylan Blunk ranks third all time at Findlay with 140 receptions after leading the team last year with 65 receptions. He needs to reach 150 to pass Seth White (2011-13), who caught 149 balls, for second.

Blunk is also nearing the top in receiving yards in a career as he currently ranks eighth all-time with 1,743 yds. To reach the top five, Blunk needs to get to 1,942 yards to tie Mike Chambers (2008-09).

Jason Moore: Junior Jason Moore is currently third at UF for receiving touchdowns in a season with 11. Rick Hatfield holds the top two spots with 14 and 13 TDs in 1979 and 1978, respectively.
