Defense Scores a Win in Spring Game

The University of Findlay football team held their annual spring game on April 21 at Donnell Stadium and the defense came away with a 33-31 win over the offense.

The defense started the game with a 24-0 lead on the scoreboard and the offense had 12 possessions to try and win the game. In the end, the defense forced three turnovers to score points and held off the offensive unit for the victory.

Adam Leonti led the way with eight tackles while Matt Davidson recorded seven. Austen Wood added five tackles, two tackles for a loss, a sack and an interception in the game as well.

Georgio Mack and Kenny Washington each recorded a fumble recovery while Luke Edwards and Justin Ellis each posted a sack.

Offensively, Austin Rettig had 11 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown while Demondre Blanks had 15 carries for 68 yards and a score.

Jason Moore recorded two catches for 73 yards, which included a 65-yard touchdown strike from Rhys Gervais. Gervais finished the game with 76 yards passing.
