Oilers Picked Third in Inaugural Season of G-MAC Football
Findlay, OH – For the first time, the University of Findlay football team will be competing in the eight-team, Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), a conference which a year ago fielded just three football squads. In the 2017 Great Midwest Football Preseason Poll, the Oilers have been picked third, despite receiving the second-most first place votes.
The Oilers received 48 points in poll while Ohio Dominican, who claimed the top spot, received 52. Hillsdale came in at number two with 49 points. Findlay will play Hillsdale on October 14, a game that will be streamed on ESPN3, and will wrap up the season at Ohio Dominican on November 11, a game with potential championship implications.
Findlay will kick off the season on Thursday, August 31 when they play Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent Tiffin University. That game kicks off at 7:00pm.
