Hyde Named All-American

Senior guard Nathan Hyde of The University of Findlay men's basketball team was selected as a 2011 State Farm NCAA Division II All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on Monday, March 21. Hyde becomes the fourth Oilers player to receive the honor, joining two-time selection and 2009 NCAA Division II Player of the Year, Josh Bostic as well as Frank Phillips (2007) and Dustin Pfeifer (2006).

Findlay's 12th highest scorer in program history with 1,528 points, Hyde is a two-time, first team all-conference and region selection.

As a senior, Hyde averaged 14.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. His 92.0 percent (138-of-150) shooting clip from the free throw line led the nation and also set a new single season school record as well.

For his career, Hyde is Findlay's record holder in free throw shooting percentage at 90.1 percent (356-of-395), which is also the third best mark in the history of NCAA Division II men's basketball.

He also ranks second in school history with 248 made three pointers and a 42.5 percent (248-of-583) shooting clip from long range.

Hyde was also named the 2010 GLIAC Tournament MVP during his junior season after setting new league records for most points in a series (84), most three pointers in a series (15) and highest free throw percentage in a series (100% - 23-of-23).
