Bulldogs Bite #3 Oilers 84-66

The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked third in the nation, dropped their second straight game as they fell 84-66 to Ferris State University on Saturday, February 19 in Big Rapids, Michigan. The loss gives the Oilers a 21-3 record on the season with a 14-3 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers built a 14-point lead midway through the first half, but the Bulldogs battled back despite All-American forward Justin Keenan being on the bench due to foul trouble. Eventually, Ferris State closed the gap and tied the game at 34-34 when the buzzer sounded.

In the second period, Ferris State took control of the game and put themselves in the driver's seat to host the GLIAC Tournament in March.

Junior guard Kyle Caiola led the team with 13 points while sophomore guard Aaron Robinson and senior guard Nathan Hyde contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively.

As a team, the Oilers shot 38.6 percent (22-of-57) from the floor while the Bulldogs connected on 50.9 percent (29-of-57) from the field.

Keenan led Ferris State with 19 points and nine rebounds while Darien Gay recorded 16 points and five assists.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Thursday, February 24 when they host #19 Hillsdale College. The game, which is slated to be a "whiteout", will begin at 6 pm in Croy Gymnasium. White UF t-shirts will be available for purchase before the game.
