#3 Oilers Defeat Dragons 83-67

The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked third in the nation, defeated Tiffin University by a score of 83-67 on Thursday, February 10 in Croy Gymnasium. The victory gives the Oilers a 20-1 record on the season with a 13-1 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers built a 45-24 lead at the break and cruised through the second half as they shot 50 percent (27-of-54) from the floor and out-rebounded the Dragons 40-22 in the game. Findlay also hit 8-of-20 (40%) shots from behind the three point line and drilled all 21 of their shots from the charity stripe to break the school record for free throw shooting percentage in a game.

Senior guard Nathan Hyde and freshman forward Greg Kahlig led the team as they both poured in 18 points.

Hyde hit all 12 of his free throw attempts to tie his own single game school record while Kahlig drilled 7-of-10 shots from the field, including a 4-of-5 showing from behind the three point line.

Sophomore forward Jack Smith registered 13 points and a career-high tying nine rebounds while sophomore guard Aaron Robinson had 11 points and seven boards.

Sophomore forward Brad Piehl also broke into double figures, scoring ten points to go along with five rebounds.

The Dragons were led by Keenan Barlow, Karl Finley and Joe Graessle, who each scored 11 points in the game.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Saturday when they travel to Columbus, Ohio to face Ohio Dominican University at 1 pm.
