Lewis Drafted #1 Overall

Morgan Lewis, former standout basketball player and national champion from The University of Findlay, was the National Basketball League's first ever draft pick as he was chosen first overall by the Oshawa Power on Sunday, August 21.

The seven-team league, which features teams from Canada, conducted its inaugural draft at the Rogers Centre's Summit Suite. It is the creation of Andre Levingston and Ian McCarthy, formed when three existing team, the Halifax Rainmen, Saint John Mill Rats and Quebec Kebs, left the Premier Basketball League amid complaints of poor management.
