Flyers Soar Past Oilers, Win 87-66

The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked seventh in the nation according to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, fell 87-66 to the University of Dayton on Saturday, November 5 at UD Arena.

The Flyers shot 50 percent (30-of-60) from the field and connected on 40.7 percent (11-of-27) of their shots from behind the three point line.

In comparison, the Oilers hit only 35.7 percent (20-of-56) of their shots during the game, which included a 3-of-23 (13%) showing from three point range.

Individually, sophomore forward Greg Kahlig led the team with a game-high 19 points while senior guard Kyle Caiola registered 14 points and five rebounds.

Freshman forward Jake Heagen chipped in ten points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals off the bench for Findlay while junior forward Jack Smith just missed reaching double figures with nine points.

The Flyers were led by Paul Williams, who came off the bench to score 14 points.

Kevin Dillard added 12 points, nine assists, six rebounds and a pair of steals in the game for Dayton as well.

The Oilers will open their regular season next Saturday, November 12 when they host Ohio Valley University at 7 pm.
