#19 Oilers Rock Tiffin 84-65

The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked 19th in the nation, claimed an 84-65 victory over Tiffin University on Thursday, December 15 in Croy Gymnasium.  The victory gives the Oilers an 8-2 record on the season with a 3-1 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers shot 49.2 percent (29-of-59) from the field and held the Dragons to a mere 36.8 percent (21-of-57) shooting clip.

Findlay also scored 21 second chance points and registered 13 steals in their 69th straight home win over a GLIAC opponent.

Sophomore forward Greg Kahlig led the team with 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting. 

He also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and hit 2-of-3 shots from behind the three point line.

Junior forward Jack Smith and senior guard Kyle Caiola contributed 14 points apiece while junior guard Aaron Robinson tallied 11 points and five assists.

Freshman forward Jake Heagen came off the bench to provide nine points, three steals and three blocks while sophomore Mark Frilling chipped in three points and six boards.

Travis Spahr led Tiffin with 15 points and 13 rebounds while Karl Finley contributed 15 points of his own.

The Oilers will welcome Ohio Dominican University to town on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. start in Croy Gymnasium.
