Oilers Claim 68-57 Win Over Lakers

The University of Findlay men's basketball team improved to 18-6 on the season with a 68-57 win over Grand Valley State University on Thursday, Feb. 16 in Croy Gymnasium.  The victory also gives the Oilers a 12-5 record in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers, who led by as many as 21 points in the second half, made over half of their field goals from three point range as they connected on 13-of-24 (54.2%) attempts.  For the game, Findlay hit 54.5 percent (24-of-44) of their shots and dished out 20 assists in the win.

Senior guard Kyle Caiola led the way with 12 points, six assists and four steals.

Junior forward Brad Piehl also tallied 12 points while sophomore forward Greg Kahlig and junior guard Aaron Robinson had ten points apiece.

Junior forward Jack Smith came off the bench to hit three triples in the first half en route to nine points.

The Lakers received 16 points from Tony Peters and 13 points and seven boards from Nick Waddell.

The Oilers will host Ferris State University on Saturday in Croy Gymnasium for senior day.  Tip-off is scheduled for a 3 pm start.
