#24 Oilers Rout Racers 74-38

The University of Findlay men's basketball team ran past the Racers of Northwestern Ohio by a score of 74-38 on Saturday, Dec. 29 in Croy Gymnasium.

The #24 Oilers shot 42.6 percent (26-of-61) from the floor and held the Racers to 23.8 percent (15-of-63) shooting clip.  Findlay also forced 19 turnovers, which resulted in 14 steals.

The Oilers also held a 20-5 advantage in second chance points and saw their bench out-score the Racers bench by a 39-11 margin.

Junior forward Greg Kahlig led the way with 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting while freshman forward Dylan Kaufman established new career-highs with 14 points, six rebounds and four steals.

Senior forward Brad Piehl also reached double figures with ten points to go along with seven rebounds while junior forward Mark Frilling and freshman guard Alphonso Baity had eight points apiece.

The Racers were paced by Derrick Tate's nine points and seven boards.

The Oilers, who improved to 8-2 on the year with the victory, will return to the hardwood on Jan. 3 when they face Saginaw Valley State University at 6 p.m. in University Center, Mich.
