Oilers Add Staley

The University of Findlay men's basketball program announced the signing of John Staley on Tuesday, April 30.  Staley will transfer from Northern Kentucky University to play for the Oilers during the 2013-14 season and have three years of eligibility remaining.

Staley played in all but one game for the NCAA Division I Norse last season, starting the final 18 games of the year.  He averaged 1.2 points and 1.1 rebounds per game and helped Northern Kentucky finish the season with a 9-9 record in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

The 6'5, 215 pound forward attended high school at Chaminade-Julienne in Dayton, Ohio where he averaged 18.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game as a senior.  The District 15 Player of the Year, Staley led the Greater Catholic League in scoring during his final two seasons and also led the league in field goal shooting percentage as a senior.

Staley was also voted the GCL Player of the Year as a senior and was a two-time, first team all-league pick.
