Oilers Ranked 8th in 1st Regional Rankings

The first NCAA Division II regional rankings came out on Feb. 19 and the UF men's basketball team is ranked eighth in the Midwest Region.

The top eight schools from the Midwest Region will compete in the NCAA Division II National Tournament at the end of the season.  The top-seed in the region will earn the right to host the first three rounds of the NCAA DII Tournament on their home floor.

The Oilers are one of four schools from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) to show up in the top-10 of the initial rankings.  Lake Superior State University, Walsh University and Michigan Technological University are also in the first poll.

The Oilers have a 1-0 record against both Lake Superior State and Michigan Tech this season and are 0-1 against Walsh.  The Oilers will play the Cavaliers in Canton, Ohio tomorrow evening at 7:30 p.m.
