Greg Kahlig Named GLIAC Player of the Week

Senior forward Greg Kahlig of the Oilers men's basketball team was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division Player of the Week for the third consecutive week on Feb. 24.

Kahlig, who has now earned the honor four times in the past five weeks and five times on the season, led the Oilers to a pair of wins last week by averaging 40.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

He began the week by scoring a career-high 42 points, which included the game-winning bucket with three seconds left, in an 82-81 win at #22 Walsh on Feb. 20.  He then poured in 39 points in the Oilers 79-63 win at home against Malone on Feb. 22.

The Ft. Recovery, Ohio native hit 62.7 percent (32-of-51) of his shot attempts during the week and splashed down ten triples in the two games.

Kahlig has now scored 1,747 points during his career, the seventh highest total in school history.  His fifth player of the week nod is also a record for an Oilers men's basketball player.

The senior is averaging 24.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game for the Oilers, who are 21-4 on the year.
