Kahlig Named 1st Team All-Region

Greg Kahlig, a senior on the Oilers men's basketball team, was named first team all-Midwest Region by Daktronics on March 13.

The forward was named the 2014 GLIAC Player of the Year and also captured GLIAC Tournament MVP honors after leading the Oilers to their third consecutive tournament title.  He is also leading the Midwest Region in scoring at 24.6 points per game.

The Ft. Recovery, Ohio native has scored 40 points or more three times this season, with a season-high of 55 points coming in the Oilers 104-74 win against Walsh in the semifinals of the GLIAC Tournament.  He has shot 50.9 percent from the floor, 43.1 percent from behind the three point line and 81.4 percent from the charity stripe during his final year with Findlay.

Kahlig, who is ranked fourth all-time at Findlay with 1,855 career points, will lead the 21st-ranked Oilers into the NCAA Division II National Tournament this weekend in Springfield, Ohio.  The Oilers will play #25 Lake Superior State in the first round of competition.  The game is scheduled to tip at 9:30 p.m. (Eastern) on Saturday, March 15.
